• Listen to Yourself

    Welcome back

How often do you listen to yourself? Are you so busy listening to the advice and opinions of others, that you fail to hear yourself?

All too often, our many hopes, dreams, and desires fall by the wayside as a result of listening to friends, relatives, and colleagues. They may genuinly mean well, but invariably they will tell you that ‘it can’t be done’. It doesn’t have to be that way, just because some folk think it can’t be done, doesn’t necessarily make it so.

Take Michelangelo, whose incredible painting adorns the roof of the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo had unwavering belief, he refused to listen to others. Do you think the painting would be there today in all its glory had he not held on to his vision?

How about the humble bumble bee, nobody told him that engineers had declared it was impossible for him to take off and fly.

Just think of how many things we now take for granted, many that are are life saving. Yet If all the past nay sayers had been listened to, we would be deprived of most of them today.

Do you have a dream, a vision, a burning desire to achieve a goal? Don’t let yourself be discouraged, Turn a deaf ear to the prophets of doom, have faith, listen to the wee small voice inside of yourself that clamours to be heard.

If you think you can do it, then you can. You can do it if you really want to. If you can see it in your minds eye, you can achieve it.

  • You too Can do it

Much has been written about positive thinking, and yes, it’s easy to have positive thoughts when things are going according to plan, and easy to believe that you too can do it.

But just how easy is it when life deals you yet another blow, and you feel that the bottom of your world has dropped out?

Maybe you’ve lost a job, or a loved one, been passed over for promotion, let a ‘golden opportunity’ slip by, or simply had aother bad day.

Whatever the reason, hard as it may be to accept, there are always some other poor souls in far more dire straits, and tragic circumstances.

How you read the situation is in reality, only your personal view of the circumstances. In fact, you are merely making a judgement against that which you perceive to be better.

Allow yourself to switch your thoughts for a moment. Just give a thought to others who have not only lived through, but overcome circumstances far worse than yours. – If they can do it, so can you.

Think of someone who has overcome a similar kind of set back. How did they mange to overcome it? – What would they do faced with your present situation? – Use them as a role model. Take a deep breath, pick yourself up, and start all over again. – Remember- If they can do it, you too can do it.
