• Opposites Attract

    Welcome back

Opposites attract in more ways than one, but have you ever stopped to think a little further about that?

What and how we think plays an important part in our lives. If we constantly harbor negative thoughts, and continually concentrate on such things as lack, hurt, regret, and failure, then sure enough, that is exactly what you will attract into your life.

Why not then do the opposite, and attract the good things into our lives? It’s simply a case of paying a little more attention to our thoughts and turning them around into more pleasurable, positive thoughts.

If you begin to pay close attention to yourself, you will be become aware of, and catch yourself in the act of negative thought, speech and actions.

Now whenever this happens, consciously make an effort to think exactly the opposite. Try to form a picture in your mind of exactly the opposite and act as if the more pleasurable positive thought were true.

Practise swapping over your thoughts as often as you can, you will be pleasantly surprised at the changes that you will begin to see in your life as a result… when it comes to your thoughts… opposites really do attract.

  • Are You Confused?

Are you confused? Is your mind spinning round in circles? Do you feel as though you are suffering from information overload?

Unfortunately, this is all too common in the hectic fast paced world we find ourselves in today. Sometimes the pressure of trying to find an answer, of trying make the right decision can become almost unbearable.

As a result, confusion sets in, the mind feels as though it just cannot cope with any more options, and there is a danger of despondency setting in.

Eventually, the seventh crown chakra can become blocked. This chakra is situated at the very top of the head and is the gateway to inspiration, spirituality and mindfulness. It is the power house of our mind and thoughts.

Fortunately, with a little gentle visualization we can ease away the blockage of this chakra quite easily.

It will help to find a quiet comfortable place where you can visualize in peace. When you are ready, let your eyelids close fully over your eyes, and take a long, slow, deep breath…

Let your body relax… be aware of the gentle rhythm of your breathing…imagine now, at the very top of your head sits a beautiful lotus flower…it has many large white petals, tinged with a delicate shade of pink…as you continue to gently breath slowly in …and out…you become aware of those beautiful petals…one by one, they slowly unfurl… the petals fall away from the center..they resemble a hand holding an orb…from far above, rays of radiant white light fall into the center of the lotus flower…the rays flow gently down…allow the soft light flow into your mind…your mind becomes refreshed…you are calm, you are at peace…

When you choose to awaken, you will feel completely refreshed, your thoughts will be stilled, you will have peace, and clarity of mind.

  • Pet Meditation

If you have the good fortune to own a pet cat or dog, you have possibly one of the best meditation aids at your finger tips. Pet meditation can be such a beautiful rewarding experience for both you and your pet.

Do not underestimate the power of your pet. The mind of your pet has a far higher frequency than ours. They don’t have our mental problems and upsets, so the reception and transmission of their thoughts and instincts remain open, and free from outside interference.

Sit or lie in a comfortable position with your pet close beside you. When you are ready, allow your eyes to close… and gently begin to lovingly stroke your pet… as you feel your hand glide over its body, notice the feel of its warm skin under the soft fur… breath gently…mentally transmit your love…feel the spiritual bond between you…let yourself relax… Breathe gently…allow your pet to guide your thoughts to a place of beauty…a place of peace and tranquility…relax…your pet may guide you into the rays of a beautiful soft light.. towards a messenger…waiting for you…relax…absorb the information you are given… accept the gift…relax…relax…when you are ready to return, your pet will guide you safely back…you will find yourself at ease, totally calm, refreshed, and filled with an inner serenity.

Reward and thank your pet, let it feel your love and gratitude.

  • Tools for Thought

So often we are told to change our thoughts to change our life, but alas, as much as we wish it to be true, it seems easier said than done. What are the tools for thought? How can we best get rid of our rusty old thoughts and swap them for shiny new ones?

Well as I’m sure you know, there are so many different options and modalities out there today that it can be hard to choose from them all.
Which one is right for you? Which path should you follow?

Unfortunately there is no easy answer, each one has their own merits, believers and followers. It would seem as though there is no ‘one size fits all.’..Or is there?

We are all different, and each of us has our own unique way of viewing the world. These views are neither right nor wrong, but purely the opinion of each individual. What feels right for you, is right for you.

Whether you believe it to be gut instinct, intuition, or the power of your subconscious, you are correct. You must do what you know is truly right for you.

It’s possible that you haven’t yet found the method or modality that is right for you, don’t worry, just try to be as relaxed about it as you can. There is a well known saying in spiritual circles, that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

I will gradually introduce various possibilities to you in future posts. Meanwhile, if you have a particular query or request, you are always welcome to contact me privately, via my contact page.

  • Why Worry?

What is worry? Worry is negative imagination, and continued negative imagination will not help you one iota. So why worry? Why do you impose negative thoughts upon yourself?

Don’t let yourself get so worked up and fretful. Stop feeding your mind with thoughts of doom, gloom, and disaster. Try to relax and calm down a little. Be a little more selective with your thoughts, predict a better future for yourself.

It’s silly and futile to drag yourself down unnecessarily, It’s just as easy to imagine a happier outcome, and as a result you will feel more confident, positive, and able to cope.

Know that you have been given the inner strength and ability to cope, whatever happens in your life, even if one door slams firmly shut, another door will always be held open for you. If your chosen path appears to be blocked, remove the obstacle or change direction, make a detour. (All roads lead to Rome.)

You have been given the powerful gift of imagination, don’t abuse it, use it to build a better brighter future for yourself and for others.

Take some nice long deep breaths..and again..allow your eyes to close and relax…Be aware of the gentle rise and fall of your breathing..allow your thoughts to drift..think of calm, peace, serenity and love.

  • Guided Meditation

Have you ever lain awake at night desperate to sleep, but find yourself tossing and turning and kept awake by unwanted thoughts?

Maybe you find that certain events of the day try to re-enact themselves in your mind. Perhaps you are tormented by thoughts of something that was said, unsaid, or seen.

At such times, Guided Meditation can be a big help. It is not an arduous difficult procedure, on the contrary, Guided Meditation is one of the most pleasant relaxing experiences, and can help you drift off into a beautiful deep restful sleep.

The first thing to do is to make yourself comfortable. Check that you are not too hot or too cold, adjust the temperature and/or your clothing if need be, then have a little wriggle around and make sure that the whole of your body is at ease.

Now start to breathe slowly and deeply…as you breathe in, say to yourself… ‘I breathe in peace’ …and on the out breath say…’I release all tension’…

As you continue to breathe gently in and out, imagine a soft radiant light entering into your body…feel the soft warmth as the light flows through your being…you are safe, you are loved, you are relaxed…relax…allow yourself to drift into a deep beautiful, relaxing sleep…relax…

It may help you to record the words and play them back to yourself. You may also find that playing gentle soothing music at the same time could enhance the total experience and effect for you.

  • Write yourself a letter

Life can be so frustrating at times. Sometimes, in spite of yourself and your good intentions, events just make you seethe with anger and despair.

At the time, it can be really hard to let go of the emotional turmoil that seems to well up inside of you. In fact it seems to follow you every where you go, and try as you may, you just cannot seem to rid yourself of the constant emotion that gnaws away inside you.

You try so hard to put the thoughts out of your mind, but the harder you try, the more persistent they are and the more you are tormented by them. What to do?

Well now, here’s a little help for you. First arm yourself with pen and paper. Take a deep breath, then start writing. Write yourself a letter. Spill all those bottled up emotions onto the paper. Write it all down, don’t hold anything back, write until you are exhausted, carry on writing until all the unwanted emotions have been drained from you.

Now for the next part. Take your ‘letter’ and immediately destroy it. Do not read it. Tear it up into tiny pieces, then burn it, or bury it, toss it away with the garbage, or simply flush it away.

Try it, believe me, you will feel so much better.

  • The Tao of Thoughts

‘You are what you think’ has been the new age mantra for many years. But true as that may be, it is easier said than done. Most of us still have a problem with trying to change those unwanted thoughts.

The difficulty lies with our ingrained habits. The best way to deal with bad habits is to replace them with good ones. Ironically, this becomes much easier if you stop trying so hard. Relax, and let it be a new experience to look forward to.

Simple relaxation of the mind is the very essence of the Tao of thoughts. It is the ability to enjoy the here and now, to find peace inside yourself.

Think of nature, of the natural growth of all living things. Trees and wild flowers grow in abundance without any man made interference. All their needs are met by an unseen benevolence that surrounds, and is a part of you, I, and every single being, plant and creature in the universe.

This benevolence is allways with you no matter what. Hold this image in your mind at every opportunity. See, feel, allow the love to reach inside.

  • Change your Thoughts

Without doubt, you have the ability to change your thoughts and consequently your life. Our thoughts are sheer habits, and thoughts, just like any unwanted habits, can be replaced with more desirable ones. But it’s important to be persistent, as it takes around 21 days to create a habit, and two months for it to be firmly established.

Did you know, that over 98% of human behaviour is based on habit? and 85% of our beliefs are negative? No wonder it seems a sorry old world out there.

Fortunately, there are tools available to help you change your thoughts for the better. By far the most successful are affirmations and guided meditations.

Affirmations are positive statements. When you repeat them mentally and verbally, your subconscious mind believes and acts upon them. Your affirmations can be written on sticky notes and placed strategically around your home and office, or printed on small cards to carry in your pocket, purse or handbag, and/or recorded to listen to on your cd or mp3 player.

Guided meditations have the added advantage of helping you to achieve deep beneficial relaxation, while your subconscious mind takes notes and acts upon the suggestions. Again, the scripts can be recorded and listened to on your cd or mp3 player when you have a quiet undisturbed moment.

  • Thoughts Feelings Actions

Are you tired? Unhappy? Stressed? Looking for answers? Seeking a new direction? Wishing for change?

To find the answer and solutions to these and other questions, look no further than inside your own mind. Your moods, and your thoughts, have created your reality. Fortunately, you can change things for the better.

Everything in life starts with a single thought. Thoughts lead to feelings – Feelings lead to actions – Actions lead to outcome and reality.

For example: Can you really think yourself slim?

Why not try it and see? After all, you’ve nothing to lose but your unwanted lbs. Stop feeling fat and frumpy, and try to think of how you would really like to look and feel.

Imagine for a moment a picture of a new slim you. How do you look? What are you wearing? How do you sit? How do you move? Do you hold your head a little higher? Stand a little taller? Hold your shoulders back? Pull your stomach in? I bet you look and feel better already. The secret now, is to keep hold of that picture, bring it to mind at every possible moment, act and feel as though you have shed the excess lbs already.
