• The Tao of Lola

    Welcome back

I am blessed with two adorable little dogs and both are lovely with their own endearing ways. Louis is a toy poodle, and Lola is a Yorkshire Terrier. In their own little ways, they both remind me of the Tao, but today I’d like but I’d like to tell you about the Tao of Lola.

Lola is the spirit of the Tao. She must be the happiest little dog in the world. From the moment she wakes up until she goes to sleep, her little tail is continually wagging. I’m sure she doesn’t have a nasty thought in her little head.

As I watch her, and observe her sheer happiness and love of life, I can’t help but think of the teachings of the Tao. The simplicity of life, living in the moment, loving others, love of nature, love of life.

If only we could all be as happy, loving, as and content as Lola. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful world?

Just imagine, no wars, no jealousy, no greed, and no hate. No wonder that the likes of the Dalai Llama always have such a beautiful serene smile on their face.

It’s sad that all major religions seem to see fit to argue, to maim, to kill and destroy. Yet at the same time they all preach peace and love. Something is wrong somewhere.

The Tao is not a religion, it is a way of life, a peaceful, happy, harmonic way of life. Surely that’s the underlying message behind all creeds, religion and beliefs.

Maybe we would all fare better in life, and feel a lot happier and more content if we were to emulate the Tao of Lola.

  • The Tao of Thoughts

‘You are what you think’ has been the new age mantra for many years. But true as that may be, it is easier said than done. Most of us still have a problem with trying to change those unwanted thoughts.

The difficulty lies with our ingrained habits. The best way to deal with bad habits is to replace them with good ones. Ironically, this becomes much easier if you stop trying so hard. Relax, and let it be a new experience to look forward to.

Simple relaxation of the mind is the very essence of the Tao of thoughts. It is the ability to enjoy the here and now, to find peace inside yourself.

Think of nature, of the natural growth of all living things. Trees and wild flowers grow in abundance without any man made interference. All their needs are met by an unseen benevolence that surrounds, and is a part of you, I, and every single being, plant and creature in the universe.

This benevolence is allways with you no matter what. Hold this image in your mind at every opportunity. See, feel, allow the love to reach inside.
