• Spring-Time to Refresh Your Mind

    Welcome back

Spring is a time of new growth, of hope and encouragement. After the cold dark winter days we welcome longer daylight hours, blue skies, blossoms and bird song.

It’s a time for renewed optimism, to put away dark thoughts and to believe in a brighter future. As you look around and marvel at the unfolding growth, it becomes so much easier to picture brighter days ahead.

Springtime is a perfect time to refresh your mind, to sow the seeds of positive thoughts, and to visualize a brighter better future.

As we prepare the soil in readiness to receive new plants, so you can prepare yourself for to receive fresh new thoughts in your mind, rid yourself of old negative ones.

Try to find, or imagine yourself in a quiet place outdoors, perhaps the corner of a garden, a park bench, a field, or maybe a country lane. Choose a secluded spot and make yourself comfortable… Be aware of the peace and beauty surrounding you…

Take a long slow deep breath… relax… continue to breathe deeply and slowly… relax… As you breath in, imagine a cascade of cool refreshing spring water surrounding and entering your body… feel yourself relax as your mind and body become refreshed… renewed… relax…

As you breathe out, imagine that all your old unwanted thoughts and feelings are being washed away… relax… you are refreshed, you are renewed… you are receptive to new thoughts, new beliefs… you are at peace.

  • Pet Meditation

If you have the good fortune to own a pet cat or dog, you have possibly one of the best meditation aids at your finger tips. Pet meditation can be such a beautiful rewarding experience for both you and your pet.

Do not underestimate the power of your pet. The mind of your pet has a far higher frequency than ours. They don’t have our mental problems and upsets, so the reception and transmission of their thoughts and instincts remain open, and free from outside interference.

Sit or lie in a comfortable position with your pet close beside you. When you are ready, allow your eyes to close… and gently begin to lovingly stroke your pet… as you feel your hand glide over its body, notice the feel of its warm skin under the soft fur… breath gently…mentally transmit your love…feel the spiritual bond between you…let yourself relax… Breathe gently…allow your pet to guide your thoughts to a place of beauty…a place of peace and tranquility…relax…your pet may guide you into the rays of a beautiful soft light.. towards a messenger…waiting for you…relax…absorb the information you are given… accept the gift…relax…relax…when you are ready to return, your pet will guide you safely back…you will find yourself at ease, totally calm, refreshed, and filled with an inner serenity.

Reward and thank your pet, let it feel your love and gratitude.

  • Guided Meditation

Have you ever lain awake at night desperate to sleep, but find yourself tossing and turning and kept awake by unwanted thoughts?

Maybe you find that certain events of the day try to re-enact themselves in your mind. Perhaps you are tormented by thoughts of something that was said, unsaid, or seen.

At such times, Guided Meditation can be a big help. It is not an arduous difficult procedure, on the contrary, Guided Meditation is one of the most pleasant relaxing experiences, and can help you drift off into a beautiful deep restful sleep.

The first thing to do is to make yourself comfortable. Check that you are not too hot or too cold, adjust the temperature and/or your clothing if need be, then have a little wriggle around and make sure that the whole of your body is at ease.

Now start to breathe slowly and deeply…as you breathe in, say to yourself… ‘I breathe in peace’ …and on the out breath say…’I release all tension’…

As you continue to breathe gently in and out, imagine a soft radiant light entering into your body…feel the soft warmth as the light flows through your being…you are safe, you are loved, you are relaxed…relax…allow yourself to drift into a deep beautiful, relaxing sleep…relax…

It may help you to record the words and play them back to yourself. You may also find that playing gentle soothing music at the same time could enhance the total experience and effect for you.

  • Meditation made Easy

Meditation is a beautiful way to enter your own spiritual sanctuary far removed from the stress and strain of modern day living. It can transport you into an inner world ofpeace, understanding and contentment.

It isn’t neccesary to spend hours of text book learning, or weeks of arduous training. All you need to begin with, is a small quiet space where you can relax and not be disturbed. Settle yourself into a comfortable position, close your eyes, allow your body to relax, and begin to take a few deep breaths … … as you continue, your breathing will slow down into a nice steady rhythm.

Now imagine a beautiful clear blue sky above you, illuminated by a golden sun…you can feel the warmth of the sun…feel the warmth of the sun as it shines, as it enters the whole of your body…your face and neck…your arms…hands…fingers…your chest…abdomen…your legs…feet…toes.

All is quiet, all is calm…feel the peace and stillness within you…maybe you can detect the fragrance of flowers…do they evoke special memories for you?…you are at one with nature, you too are a part of the universe…you are safe…you are loved…you are protected.

Gently let your eyes open when you are ready to return to your normal surroundings. You will feel totally relaxed and at peace. Know that ou can return to your inner sanctuary whenever you desire, peace of mind will allways be there for you.

  • Deep Breathing for Relaxation made easy

Would you like a simple easy way to relax?

We are often told to take a deep breath when faced with a stressful situation. Yes, deep breathing can indeed work wonders, but for a maximum benefit the breathing should be controlled.

When I first set out on the meditation path, I had a major problem with correct breathing. Even when I thought I was taking a deep breath, my breathing was still shallow, I didn’t have a clue what to do and thought it would take me a lifetime to master.

Some years later, I began formal training in spiritual healing and discovered a foolproof method that I would like to share with you.

Turn your attention to your abdomen. Lightly rest your hands just below the navel, with the tips of your fingers just touching each other.

Now slowly and deeply breath in…If you are breathing deep from the abdomen your finger tips will be pushed apart…Now slowly breath out…This time your finger tips will gradually move towards and touch each other again.

Should you find that your fingers stay put regardless of how ‘deep’ you seem to be breathing, try this…

With your hands still resting lightly below your navel, imagine your abdomen to be a balloon which inflates as you slowly breath in. As the ‘balloon’ inflates, you will feel your hands spread apart and separate. As you slowly breath out, the ‘balloon’ will gradually deflate and your hands will come together again.

Once you have established a nice steady breathing rhythm, you can relax, and let the rest of the world go by.
